Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo has expressed his displeasure over CID releasing brother of former minister Rishad Bathiudeen from police custody.
Police said yesterday that Riyaj Baduideen was released as there is not enough evidence against him to file a case. The Police Spokesman said that the decision was made based on the findings of the investigation.
Police in April said that Riyaj Bathiudeen had a direct connection with Easter bombers. Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith today at a press conference played a video from April where Police Spokesman spoke about the evidence they have against Riyaj Bathiudeen’s connection to Easter Sunday bombings.
