A person has been attacked to death
with a sharp weapon and a club near a house in the Naramminiya area of Peliyagoda.
The incident had occurred on August 18 and the person who was critically injured from the incident has succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment in the Colombo National Hospital last morning (19).
The deceased is a 39-year-old resident of the Kelaniya area on Naramminiya Road.
Police said the attack was carried out by a group of individuals over a personal dispute.
A 24-year-old resident of the Kottukachchiya area has been arrested by the police in connection with the incident along with the knife which was allegedly used in the crime.
Peliyagoda Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
